Was
invited to speak at Macromedia's MAX
2004 Conference on
"Creating enhanced DVD content using Director MX 2004".
Co-designed
and implemented the Hellboy Director's Cut DVD ROM for Sony
Pictures. This involved using Director's ability to access
the DVD video on the ROM side. Click here for
a representative screenshot.
Co-designed
and implemented the ROM content for the Lord of the
Rings, Return of the King DVD (theatrical edition). Click here for

Co-designed
and implemented the Hellboy DVD ROM for Sony
Pictures.
Specified,
designed and did the graphic design for the ManyOne
Networks National Virtual Observatory project. This
is a realtime 3D rendition of all (100,000 stars) known
stars.
Here
is a graphic that illustrates much of the functionality.
The demo version of this system was displayed at the American
Astronomical Society conference early this year and
was well received. The work will continue when more funding
arrives.

Co-designed
and implemented the ROM content for the Lord of the Rings,
Two Towers DVD (extended edition). This won first prize
for ROM features at the 7th Annual DVD Awards. See portfolio
for more details.
Specified, designed and implemented further 3D worlds for
ManyOne
Networks.
Updated a CD-ROM (with Shockwave version) of a speech pathology
training product for Carousel
House that I had completed last year. The online demo
version may be viewed here.
Updated a version of the ROM side content of the Timecode
DVD for a new release.
Amended the data for the Lord of the Rings DVD ROM side experiences
to include information for the Two Towers release. I also
co-designed and created two more Director pieces for inclusion
with the Two Towers DVD extended edition (see
portfolio).

Created
an online jukebox for Aquarius Records. It parses their web
site for real audio links and then organized these files into
categories and playlists with the accompanying reviews. The
work is no longer viewable since Aquarius has updated their
site.
Used Directors 3D capabilities to develop a real time 3D fly
though of the solar system for ManyOne
Networks. This existed within a framework that allowed
more sophisticated navigation that this demo version shows.

Developed
a real time 3D template for ManyOne

into the ManyOne framework.

2001
Freelance

Redesigned
a web site for Name-Shop.
Please note that the client subsequently added banners that substantially
altered the original design.
Designed the framework of a CD-ROM for Exhibit Services of
the San Francisco Exploratorium as an Exploratorium volunteer.
This was to be a shell application to allow Exhibit Services
to make custom presentations by placing the assets to be presented
in a directory structure and then burning a CD-ROM. This involved
full screen video and was being created in Director. Unfortunately
this had to be abandoned due to the pressure of other work.
Produced
a version of the ROM side content of the Timecode DVD. This was
included on the accompanying ROM of the book "72
dpi - anime" - a collection of innovative mew media design
products.
Built a web site for the Civic Center Child Care Corporation
(now redesigned). This includes a PHP driven photo gallery
(I am also the photographer for the day care).
Designed and built a web site for The Idea Factory to deliver
a large report to the Singapore government. This included
a lot of video material and used a Quicktime guided tour which
I filmed, compressed and implemented. [sample
page 1, sample
page 2].
Worked freelance for OvenDigital
on a large Shockwave based educational product using Director/Shockwave,
Dynamo and XML.
